The short version: we collect nothing. Here's the full version.
Myri is a personal finance application for iPhone developed and operated by John Jestin ("we", "us", "our"). The app is available at myri.money. For questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
Myri is built around a deliberate architectural decision: we operate no servers and collect no user data.
All financial information you enter into Myri (including accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, and personal details) is stored exclusively in encrypted local storage on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is:
This is not a temporary limitation: it is a permanent product decision. Myri will never introduce a backend that processes your financial data.
When you use Myri, the following data is stored locally on your iPhone:
None of this data ever leaves your device to Myri.
During onboarding, you can optionally use Sign in with Apple to pre-fill your name and email address. If you choose to do so:
Apple's handling of Sign in with Apple is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you have iCloud backup enabled on your iPhone, your Myri data may be included in your device's iCloud backup alongside all other app data. This means:
Myri allows you to import CSV files exported from your bank. When you do this:
If you grant notification permissions, Myri may send local notifications to your device (for example, budget limit alerts). These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No notification data is sent through our servers. We use Apple's local notification framework only.
Myri contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting tools, and no third-party tracking libraries of any kind. We do not use Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Crashlytics, or any similar services.
Apple may collect anonymised, aggregated app performance data through App Store Connect. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy and is not associated with your financial data.
This website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) as part of normal web hosting operations. This data is separate from the Myri app and is not associated with your financial information. Vercel's privacy policy applies: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
This website does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics.
Myri provides general financial guidance and educational information. It does not provide regulated financial advice as defined by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA). The guidance in Myri:
For advice specific to your circumstances, consult an FCA-authorised financial adviser or visit MoneyHelper for free, impartial guidance backed by the government.
Myri is not designed for or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Because Myri operates no servers and holds no user data, most data rights (access, portability, erasure) are exercised directly on your device:
If you have questions about your data or this policy, email [email protected].
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app. Continued use of Myri after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
For questions, concerns, or requests relating to this privacy policy, email [email protected]. For general help with the app, see our Support page.
